I bought a refurb win 11 Dell laptop last mouth. I have been very pleased with it,
I remember changing a setting so it did not ask password every time I switched on, I'm guess that is what they call a local account.
I now need to do something as Admin & I don't have any option. I have tried so many ways as suggested on the web, but whenever I try it says not allowed.
I do know my admin password.
I have even tried to reset but again not allowed.
Links or suggestions welcomed.
Thanks

If I understand correctly, -

When you turn the computer on, it brings you straight to the desktop, without any password or login screen?

And the account it logs into doesn't have admin access?

Have you tried 'switching user' to the admin account?

The image definitely shows you have no admin rights on that account. If you did, there would be a yes button!
You might want to have a try at working through this:

But as you only bought it a month ago, could you ask for some help from the vendor?

I have and he has responded, but not yet with a solution
I will watch the youtube clip.
Thanks

Youtube clip. Didn't work error message basically not allowed.
I think I need to go into safe mode and change a registry setting.

Thanks I will give thus a go. I do know the admin password. Anything worth a go. I have a 2nd laptop, so I can read instructions and perform the tasks.
