Hi all

I need advise on where to purchase a winch which meets the following requirements please.

I need a 230V powered winch that has a lifting capacity of 100Kg and have a 10-20m cable / rope length.

Importantly, it has to have a mechanism what when there is no electrical power applied to the winch that the cable can be withdrawn from the winch by hand and preferably with very little effort. Just as importantly, to allow the withdrawal of the cable I will be unable to access the winch (ie I will only be able to access the winch 'eye' and pull it allowing cable withdrawal whilst the motor is unpowered)

It would have to be reliable and will be used around 150 times a year.

I would appreciate some links to a reputable item.

I would need the winch shipped to an address in the UK.

Kind regards

Paul

Budget?
mounting type?
What you using it for?

How long a control cable you need?

Have you tried google? I did and there are plenty that meet those requirements.

budget is about £250, I am using it in a garage. I have not tried google as I was unaware as to what this type of winch is known as

Have you got a supporting structure strong enough to support the whole weight you want to lift?
Or are you wanting one with a frame to perhaps lift an engine from out of a car?

List what you have, what you want to use it for with more detail.
Lifting is a lot more dangerous than horizontal pulling.
Few people would give advice on anything that involved lifting without some more info due to the risk factor.

Bear in mind that if something is being dragged, then you can use multiple “tow ropes” as extensions with stops and resets.

If lifting then a pulley on the rope/hawser and back to the unit will increase the capacity of the winch but half the lifting distance
