Window disasters

Why FENSA (not FENCA) came into being. I would have thought a joiner would understand the high structural integrity of timber vs the low structural integrity of plastic.

Anyway you seem not to know enough about the subject to discuss it, so we won't.

I'm going through the same thing. I'm replacing the windows in the kitchen and bathroom with smaller ones and getting the gaps bricked up. It was when I called a builder out to look at it, he mentioned Building Control. I called my local council who were very helpful. They said if the builder is FENSA registered, I don't need it inspecting as the builder can sign off on his own work. If he's not FENSA registered, I have to notify the council and pay £90 for the inspection.
