DO NOT WIRE INTO SOCKET Any cooker requiring hard wiring as you sound to have should be wired to a purpose made cooker connection unit with a double pole isolation switch.Regarding the earth wire, it should be sleeved with g/y sleeving.Three earth wires in the socket is ok if they include a strapper to the back box.

thanks for reply . the exsisting socket has separate switch for cooker &
switch for socket . i need to cover wire with insulation then , as i thought .

The cooker should be connected to a cooker outlet plate which is supplied from the switch.

How many cables are there at the switch?

What size are they?

What is the rating of the fuse/MCB on the circuit?

What is the rating of the new cooker?
