I am wanting to replace my double built in oven, but need advice on wiring before I purchase a new one.(i will employ an electrician to install if i do purchase)
existing oven is hard wired, 6mm cable, adjacent electric hob are connected to a 45amp double pole switch
my existing oven has max load of 5.2kw, existing adjacent hob loading 6.0kw.
the double built in oven i am looking to buy has a total load of 4.8kw.a sticker on the new oven says it should be installed using 10mm cable. the actual installation guide for the new oven says 'we recommend a minimum of 4mm2 PVC insulated twin and earth cable for connection of each appliance.
can anyone advise if the existing 6mm cable is suitable please?
