i'm trying to fit a new light fitting. I've removed the old ceiling rose and have the following coming out of the ceiling

3 main wires containing

1 with red blue and yellow wires
1 with red and black
1 with red and black.

New light fitting has terminal for LIVE NEUTRAL AND EARTH.

I also have an extractor fan.

Please help - I need to map the wires from the ceiling to my new fitting.

Thanks in advance.

Too late to make a note of what went where, then....

1 with red blue and yellow wires
£ to a p this takes permanent and switched live to the fan.

One of these will be the circuit cable, and one the switch cable.

You don't mention earths in the above cables - I take it they do all have them?

I also have an extractor fan.
Do you also have a multimeter?

You'll also need a JB, or some choc-block; check the For Reference topic & it'll be clear why...
