Wiring in cavity

New2Game said:
My gran wants some sockets putting in her sunroom but does not want me chasing out walls as she has exposed brickwork, and the floor is concrete. Is it against building regs to run the cables through the cavity? If so, whats the alternative?

1) You can chase out a mortar joint

2) If this is a dwarf wall, which often has a sort of sill on it, you can surface clip (or mini-trunk) just under the lip of the sill where it is not very visible

3) On the wall which is the back of the house, you can drill through from the House side

4) You can space out the skirting on battens, and run the cable in there, with earthed metal capping or conduit

5) You can tell her not to be so silly.

In that case, you'll get crossed polarity as they swerve all over the place.....(JOKE)
