Wiring Kitchen

Jamie - you will not, I sincerely hope, be spoon fed answers to questions as you try to grope, issue by issue, onwards with your madcap scheme to rewire a house when you do not have anywhere near the amount of knowledge, skills and equipment to do it.

It is a far from trivial job, and I can assure you that it involves knowing far more than you think it does.

PLEASE stop now, and get an electrician.

The house I am not living in , none of the sockets are yet live or even wired to the consumer unit yet ( electrician will do this )

All I have done is out the wires in place and wired them into the back of the sockets

All I need is advice on how to wire a grid switch in the kitchen

I am aware that I cannot do it myself which is why I am putting the wiring in place for the electrician to check over and amend if needed

Thanks

Until the circuit is designed, you don't know what cable(s) to install where.

There is no point in running 2.5mm all over the place if the electrician turns round and says you need 4mm because of derating factors or volt drop or to obtain disconnection times.

And an electrician willing to 'sign off' your work (if one exists) is going to want to see worked calculations, not fag-packet sketches.
