Hotpoint WMA 30/40/50 LAST ERROR DETECTED codes

Ensure that the main selector switch is in the Off or O position.

Press and hold the Super Rinse and Rinse Hold buttons whilst selecting H on the selector knob, and continue to hold for five seconds.

The 'Super Rinse', 'Rinse Hold' and 'Wash' LED's will now be flashing.

Press the Start/Cancel button for two seconds.

The 'Rinse Hold' LED will be lit and the 'Super Rinse' LED will be flashing.
The 'Final Spin' LED could be on or off at this stage.

Press the Rinse Hold button briefly.

The 'Rinse Hold' LED will be flashing & the 'Super Rinse' LED will be on steady to indicate the last error routine has been initiated.

Rotate the main programme selector knob slowly anti-clockwise to programme A

Slowly rotate the selector switch clockwise through four positions A to D inclusive, pausing briefly at each programme position. Starting with A make a note of the 'Final Spin' LED status. it will be on or off.

When the selector knob reaches D you will have a series of Ons and Offs . This 4 bit binary code should be recorded and checked against the error codes in the following table.

..............................................................A...........B.............C...........D

No spin due to O.O.B............................on.........off...........off.........off

The machine is empty now and has been powered off but still it will not run, any ideas on how to resolve it, is it a switch or something??

bit confused, when you turn it on does it fill with water does it wash and when on spin mode does the drum go round if it dont go round then i would look at the brushes on the motor .

on a wash cycle The machine begins to fill with water carries out a few revolutions of the drum then stops with lamps lit.

on a spin the machine drains then rotates the drum for a couple of revolutions then faults,

i have checked the brushes and they are o.k, the motor is only 9 months old!!

right check the wiring harness under the bottom concrete weight going to the motor or motor plug its self they have a common prob they shaffer on the weights .

ive found the problem, the control board with the black relays on where the white motor cables come out,X1 the resistor r35 is has gone to the moon!!!!!

Hi
I've changed the board on my WMA 37 this afternoon, found the cable s between the motor and the board have worn away against the concrete block. The machine now does 4 spins then it goes straight to End Light comes on. On every program The diagnosis code is

A B C D
on on off off

Start butt pressed with door open.......off..........on............off........off
or O/C interlock.
javascript:emoticon(';)')
What does this mean other than more expense?

the cables have shorted together can you rejoin them .choc block will be good from halfords. they are 4 white ones you need to match the right ones up not to difficult.

yeah i done that repaired the cables and changed to the new board, but board people mention change the interlock??? Would this be the door interlock?

Tried the machine and instead of two revolutions now does 4??? then end light comes on.

Fault code A B C D as last post.
