Women woodworkers???

Hi everyone, I am living in China and I am interested in getting into cabinetmaking or furnituremaking. I've called a bunch of places near me, but I'm getting a lot of men giving me the "this-is-a--man's-job" stuff. Is this job really not suitable for women?? Please help!! Thanks.
