I am considering putting wooden flooring in the hall, it measure 0.88 x 4.2, so 4m2.

4m2 is not alot even for the more expensive stuff.

I will be laying onto concrete, or does wood floor need an underlay.

Also what type of floor?

If you need an underlayment depends on the way you plan to install it: floating - yes, glueing down - no

and what type of flooring, depends on your personal preferences but I would opt for wood-engineered or bamboo (which due to its measurements is best gleud down in small areas like yours)
