Hi Hope some one can shed some light. I have the above boiler, on monday all of a sudden it decided to pack in.
I made sure the pressure bar was above 1, put on demand for water got hot water iafter about 5 mins then noticed that the pressure bar needle was rising and was turning the gauge to 3 -4. Then all of a sudden must be for safety reasons it just packed in. Made a bang. It only seems to want to have hot water or central heating for 5 mins. I know the needle increases slighly as i draw water, but this increase in needle was heading straight for 3-4 bar.

At first i thought it might be i have to drain central heating in case of a blockage.

It was mentioned 3 way valve blocked, but got told it sounded more like heat exchanger unit. AS it happens someone is coming this weekend.

Its just that some have said boiler is not worth fixing as 10 yr old and that is the life span, just that i do not want to spend money on it if it is at its end of life. I got a new pump fitted about 2-3 year ago and it has been great, just that there was no warning that thinks were going wrong.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Boiler well worth fixing.

My local Worcester man won't fix anything over 10 years old, but independent guys will usually keep it going for many years to come.

I'm not offering possible causes, sat in front of boiler I would get to the bottom of it, you have man coming round, he should sort it.

Does the ch flow pipe get hot when you are drawing hot water?and presumably the pressure rises when you run ch on its own aswell?.
