I have recently bought a house with a WB Greenstar 15Ri installed. After the timed programme for heating has finished the pump continues to run indefinitely. The only way to stop this is to turn the boiler off then back on again. I would expect overrun for 3-5 mins but not this length of time. Has anyone experienced this before and can advise if an engineer/repair is needed?

The pump should be connected back to the boiler to enable it to provide an over run after a heat generation.

Assuming that it is corrected connected then it sounds likely to be a faulty PCB. But it might also be a sensor so those would be checked first.

An engineer might be £84 to diagnose and fit and commission a new part with a PCB perhaps being about £120.

The question then arises is it worth the expense to correct it?

You might just wait until the next annual service and get the engineer to check the sensors and come to a conclusion as to the cause of the fault.
