Hello

Since September I have had my Worcester Bosch, Green star 25/32 external oil boiler serviced 3 times, by 3 different heating engineers. after the first one, my boiler started to 'cut out' after a week,, unable to get engineer back (Completely ignored me). get a second Engineer, who serviced it and said last service was not done, as everything inside burner was black and sooty. anyway a week after me second service it started to cut out again. third engineer (Im trying to find a good one) serviced boiler and said same thing (last two engineers did not service it correctley). anyway one week later boiler starts cutting off. I myself removed the burner and found it all black and sooted up, I cleaned all put burner back and now it works. it is day 2 and I am expecting it to cut out before the weekend. I have only got one service sheet and the data is as follows - Pump pressure = 140 psi, CO2 = 12.11%, Flue gas temp = 68, net efficiency = 91%. can anyone tell me why my burner is getting sooty. the only thing I have noticed and all engineers did not comment on is that my tiger loop is as old as the boiler (18 years old)

Sooted boiler is ALWAYS down to too much fuel/too little air.
Having taken out the burner and cleaned it is insufficient; you need to clean out all the baffles and flueways and ensure that the air intake is clear and that the burner fan is clear. As long as the burner runs when clean, the tiger loop sounds good.
