New to this inherited System in recently purchased house.
We have a system hot water tank in loft. Programme control is alongside this. Thermostat control is downstairs- as is the boiler. Pics attached.
Since our electricity was disconnected recently for plasterwork, then turned back on - we have had no heating, just hot water - cannot figure out why.
The heating is programmed to come on 3x times a day. The hot water is on 'all day' setting.

Can anyone tell me how to get heating to come on please?

You have two heating circuits so my guess is the programmer is faulty.
Power cuts can fry them.

Thanks Jeff, shame it's not something we can do ourselves as just struggling at moment to get anyone out to check for us - hence this post.

Does the red light come on when you select the heating to ON.

The programmer has two channels. One for hot water and one for heating.
Does the programmer click or the light come on when toggling between heating on and heating off?

On top of the white valves is a lever. Push to the left and lock into position on the barb.
Run some hot water off, say a bath and your radiators will come on whilst the cylinder reheats.

You appear to have 2 heating zones....so you should have 2 thermostats...do neither work?

Thats right, we have 2x heating zones, (1xupstairs and 1xdownstairs) Yet we only have one thermostat located in hall that in theory covers everything - previously when heating worked, all house radiators were on at the same time - think previous owners may have controlled them by the individual radiator thermostats?

That makes no sense....each zone valve should be controlled by a room thermostat.
How is the upstairs zone valve controlled?

Are you capable of doing a bit of basic electrical testing?
If not, you’ll need to call a heating engineer.

Had an engineer out yesterday- he too was puzzled that there was no thermostat for upstairs heating - however, he fitted a new pump and all is now well! We have both hot water AND heating now! Thanks so much for your time and input.

We didn't feel comfortable doing basic electrical testing. We tried all we could inc running bathful of hot water to see if heating would then come on, as you suggested, but sadly it didn't.
