Hi Guys,

I have a Worchester 24RI Boiler, it failed on me the other day and the fault was down to the main pump for CH and HW. This was replaced and now all is fine.

One thing that I have now noticed, that when i put on the heating, the boiler takes ages to fire up, nothing happens for about 2-3 mins then it fires up and the green light comes on. Before the pump failure it took less than a minute.

Any ideas? I would ask the guys who fixed but they already cost me an arm and a leg so far. So wanted to ask for a few opinions first.

Cheers

It doesn't sound like the boiler itself is on the blink. If you've already had the hot water on & then call for CH, it maybe that the boiler stat is satisfied & won't fire up the boiler until sufficient heat is lost down the CH circuit.

You could try simply turning up the pump speed, this will help shift the heat quicker & the boiler will start sooner. Might be worth upping the boiler stat temp a wee bit too?

Ri's aren't fitted with any in built delay, so providing there is demand & the boiler 'stat isn't satisfied it will fire.
