politicians are publicly accountable, are publicly audited and are elected by us public.
welfare cheats are not.
it costs the public many millions to subsidise cheats and costs millions to pursue and prosecute these cheats.
i can not say whether politicians are value for money but at least there is some return and their greedy grabbings pale into insignificance when compared to welfare cheats.

I certainly hope the article is wrong as it takes the sport out of war as pushing a button cannot be compared to the Adrenalin "HIGH" one gets seeing a worthy opponent in his/ her rifle scope 1,000 yards away or the rush of having hand to hand combat fighting for your very life.
My lord, to think dropping a bomb or crashing a plane into civilians targets is what the world has come to is terrible.
How can a distinguished fighting man/ woman get medals or honor as there is no honor in unmanned flights.
May as well go back to chemical/ biological and nuclear warfare once you take the thrill of the hunt out of the equation.
There will never be another Patton or Rommel or the incompetent so called General the British had in Europe who had to beg Patton not to take all the glory and they held Patten back from his march into history.
Generals leading a brave armed forces or an admiral using his cunning and luck to win decisive naval battles or the Russian front or the battle of Normandy , Wake Island would never be famous if they had used robotics.
The Bayonet the Charge of the light brigade is what war is supposed to be UPFRONT and personal.
If world war two had German Generals in charge the fighting spirit of the Japanese soldiers that would have been an invincible army.
Fighting to the last man like the mighty Spartans where history and songs were written about the brave fallen heroes of their time.
Placing a bomb on bus or taking out innocent civilians is not cricket and really not that much of a challenge.
MARCHING in line wearing bright red and white uniforms beating the hell out of drum letting the world know your presence as you march in a straight line not bowing to the pressure of some folks hiding behind trees wearing camouflage shooting and hiding like cowards as they pick off the upstanding red coats is the way war was meant to be.
Trench warfare of WW 1 were officers shot their own troops if they failed to obey the order to attack with mustard gas dropping their comrades in arms.
Earning every single inch of blood soaked soil fighting a war to end all wars is what made hero's like Sargent York and WW2 heroes like Audry Murphy disregarding his own safety to save some brit and his fellow soldiers from certain death.
AHH the good old days were men were men and Churchill smoked his cigar as he used the American Tommy gun to gain the attention of his foe.
Cowards and nut cases and morons like Chamberlain history has proven his lies "peace in our time" as he waved a piece of paper that would be better if he had shoved it up his &^&^
or better yet if Chamberlain died at birth and saved his country from disgrace knowing this low life who sold out other countries to a tyrant in hope of appeasement.
Every time there is a war using conventional firearms and gun powder there is new medical break through as new limbs are designed and better ways of closing wounds are found that help all of mankind like a trauma center in a hospital.
War helps in keeping this planet from over crowding and thins out the herd and most importantly gives us disabled veterans so much glory to talk about.
How all gave some and some gave all for God and country.. LOCK and Load..
