I noticed the semi detached house that i live in, under the first floor chipboard there is nothing but air!

Is it worth while insulating this using loft insulation or is it not really worth it?
The house has double glazing and loft insulation in the roof space.

thanks in advance

depends on pupose

noise reduction!!!!!! with the right stuff will help
heat loss!!!! if your have your heating on upstairs sometimes [evenings and mornings]and your attic is insulated
it wont make much difference cos the heat difference is not to great and any lost heat will help warm the upstairs rooms

I know I'm brining back an old topic here but I've got a similar problem but mine is on the extension of the house which has a flat roof with no insulation.

So between the ground floor ceiling & 1st floor can I just use normal loft insulation from my local DIY store or do I need something more specialist? and how much should I pack it out? do I need to allow for airflow between the ceiling and the chipboard?

I've been looking on the net but can't find any good advice about this.

Thanks!
