Hi

Just got a new 12v manrose timed extractor fan fitted in my bathroom which is wired to come one when the light cord is pulled and turn off after 10 mins when the light is turned off. This is wired into a transformer in the loft. Working fine for two days.

I decided to paint the bathroom on saturday and left the light on (so the fan was permanently on) for 2 hours.

Then on sunday i did antoher 2 hour session with the light/fan on and as i was finishing, the fan just stopped!.

Is it likely that i killed the fan for leaving it on for 2 hours or did the paint fumes kill it (the window was wide open) and is there anything i should do to revive it etc.

Any help would be great as it cost me £100+ to get it installed, thanks

2 thiings

as its 12v its run by a transformer

1) the transformer has overheated and burnt out

2) the transformer has overheated and switched off

try it in a few hours if it comes on its option 2 if it doesnt its option 1 and needs to be replaced
