It is roomsealed, and no electricity, and the screws are in the casing, not the combustion chamber so technically there is nothing wrong with it.
Besides that, corgi was stopped in april, so you don't have to be registered anymore to work on gas anyway.

Actually its the front case that makes it room sealed. Therefore the shower bracket screws would have to be airtight.

It is disgraceful how some plumbers will say anything to get a job. Why do you think the building regs say a bathroom must have either ventilation or an openable window?
