Would you do this differently?

A lot would depend on what was already there, and how much time you're allowed for the job. If the fixed cabling was already like that, and especially if the two boxes and roses were already there then it makes perfect sense.

If there were no existing constraints, then I'd have taken the cables into the left end of the left fitting (with a Y box if there isn't provision for two entries on the end) and then linked from the right end of the left fitting to the left end of the right fitting.

No, there was no wiring there at all. The cabling, boxes and fittings are all newly installed.

I wouldn't have bothered with roses, just a bit of choc block and glands back out, perhaps replacing the 90 with an elbow & a T.

Without knowing the circuit configuration I couldn't say whether I'd move anything though.

I like the idea of the Click Rose and did the same myself it makes maintenance so much easier. It means you can unplug a single lamp repair or replace without having to switch off the rest of lights in the circuit so can repair without disrupting production.

I have done very similar the lighting track does have advantage of fuse in the plug I did consider using Walsall plugs and sockets but only three pin so problem with emergency lights. What would have been nice was to be able to buy them as socket and separate plug so you could fit all emergency sockets and emergency plugs only on emergency lights so as machines get moved and modified one can change where the emergency lights are positioned.

It doesn't look the tidyest.

On a surface mount installation like that plug in ceiling roses are never going to look the tidiest, but some improvement could have been made I think.

Was it in the spec to use plug in ceiling roses?

Perhaps there is a suspended ceiling due in the next phase of the works and the fittings are going to be relocated onto that?

This is in my local shopping precinct. They are doing a refit at the moment.

Funnily enough, there are luminaires fitted into a suspended ceiling and they have also used the same cable, galv. boxes and AR click roses but these fittings are outside the area of the suspended ceiling.

I wondered initially why they didn't run the cable in the corner (behind the fittings) rather than in front of them, which is more prominent.

Anyone want to hazard a guess on whether the galv boxes are earthed?
