Hi
I have a 30 amp 6mm supply to a 45amp cooker point/switch and then 6mm wire to the hob and oven space.

hob is 7.1 Kw and oven is 2.1Kw

how do I connect these two together so that they are both running on the same circuit?
or do I split them out one on the cooker circuit and another on the ring main?

do I need to run 6mm cable to each unit or can I put the 6mm cable into a junc box and then run 2 different cables fron there to the oven and hob?

If they are close enough together, you could use a CCU with a socket, comme ça:

(other makes and other suppliers are available)

and wire the hob to the cooker switch and plug the oven in.

Plus do a search here for cooker, hob, oven etc and read all about wiring two appliances to a cooker outlet plate, and about whether you should have them on a 40A breaker. 40A is interesting - depending on the length of the cable, and whether it's buried in conduit, or bunched up with other cables, the existing 6mm cable could well be OK for it.
