Stop Press Problem finally solved @20:40 hrs BST
The fuses x4 were housed in an old steel box presumably dating back to the date of build ie 1964 located no more than 10 inches above the new csu and bearing the name Crown. Although always within my sights this bit of kit has always secretly relayed the subliminal message -do not open under any circumstance or abandon hope all ye who enter!
However the role of honour tonight reads as follows :Scoby-Felix-Plugwash-ChrisR-theshogun & Lectrician each of whom were like bright shining beacons in an otherwise dimly lit world-my heartfelt thanks goes out to each and every one of you. Goodnight & Happy Easter.
Does anyone know if the wylex 3-way consumer unit Cat No 304 has replaceable fuses? If it has could someone please explain how to remove and replace the fuse as I would dearly love to restore light to my house.
£ ways do you live in a caravan ? sound to small for the house, and you now say they are all marked as B32 which is 32amp MCB this cant be wright either a mess up or secondary unit. I would suggest knowing kitchen fitters they tend to use a spur unit to do the lighting and generally fix it to the underside of one off the kitchen units hidden behind the pelmet. Also they tend to leave it as a 13amp fuse instead rating it correctly. Try looking under or on the units
