X hose

I'd never heard of X-hoses, so I googled them.

It seems that the good quality ones cost upward of £75(!) and cheap Chinese imports (£15) have a habit of exploding!

Maybe a Betamax verses VHS thing; popular over better...?

Hozelock is 'the name of choice'. I keep seeing stuff in Lidl/Aldi which looks great, but what do I do and where/when do I find an adapter doobrie for their stuff? (And is it compatible with anything other than their, not easily sourced, stuff?

I can get Hozlock from: -

B&Q
Wilkinsons
The Range
Endless, (albeit expensive), garden centres
Mars...

One thing concerns me! If the water entering the pipe expands it, and it contracts when you turn off the tap, where does the water in the pipe go?

dribbles out the end, The pressure expands it not the water.

I always finish by turning the tap off at the source and opening the hose end to drain it. Stops the hose splitting if it freezes
