when calling for dhw the cyl stat closes sending a live feed to junction box
along the black wire and live feed to boiler and pump my question is there
a live feed along the orange wire TO 3 way valve if it is in b position

ollski if you look at a y plan from the programmer to j box on terminal 6
you have a brown wire live feed to cyl stat if calling switch c + 1 make sending a live feed down the black wire to j. box to t 8 where orange wire is connected into the same terminal has the black wire from sat and on the other side of the terminal 8 boiler red + pump red so would there not be a live feed from the black to orange at same time sending a live feed to 3 port valve.

The orange is live only when the valve is open and calling for heat.

yes seen it kev but accordinding to that it would mean that the orange is live going to the 3 way valve ?

the orange is live OUT of the switch in the valve when it motors thats what puts the boiler on

or when power is applied to the white wire. Why not rig yourself a board up and have a play.

cant get my head round this!
so if cyl stat was calling for heat and the motor was already in dhw position (B) when c + 1 make you get live out from stat on black wire to terminal 8 which has the orange wire from 3 way putting a live feed to 3 way and also live to pump and boiler
what is the porpose of the live feed from black wire to j box with orange connected with a live feed to 3 way valve when it is already in resting position thanks.

room stat calling goes to white wire, turns motor and comes out of orange, hot water at programmer has off setting linked to a live feed and goes down the grey to the valve. The hot water calling at the cylinder stat will be linked direct to orange and the hot water off will be linked to grey, therefore when hot water is demanded power goes off the grey. If power goes off the grey wire but on the white the valve will motor to mid position with a reduced voltage on the white wire.
