Hi All
I am not an installer just a homeowner within DIY skills. Looking for advice on fitting a PIR sensor underneath our car port.

Water will not be an issue and I have tested it and it works fine in terms of signal etc.

The only issue I have is that I only want it armed when we go to bed i.e in Home mode. I don't want it working when we leave the house as the postman goes under our car port and leaves packages during the day etc.

The only option I can see is to exclude it when we are in bed at night like the upstairs PIRs. I want the opposite though and only have it armed at night if that makes sense.

Can this be done?

not to my knowledge.

the yales I have used only have two sets:

Away (all sensors)

Home (some sensors)

you could try the yale phone helpline.

By the sounds of it and correct me if I am wrong you want to fit an internal wireless PIR outside as external PIR's can be installed and work in the rain?

rather than having the siren go off and wake your neighbours whenever a cat walks through your carport, consider a stand-alone PIR wireless chime.

I use one to alert me to people approaching the house and cars.

Use a SHUNT SWITCH, simples. Now there is a bit of Googling for you.
