I have the yale mains powered external siren. The instructions state that there is no need to change batteries as it has a built-in battery, and with the 12v dc supply connected the battery is disabled and the on off switch has no function.
Does this mean that there is an additional built-in battery that is not visible or are the alkaline batteries the backup? When installed using the 12v dc supply, can the alkaline batteries be removed and still be backed up?
