WOW! I didn't know that. I assumed the police lifted criminals, took them back to the station, asked those on shift to say how long the criminal should get in prison, taking the average and job done.

They get out of the country they are in, then spend days, months, some even years, making their way across several, perfectly safe EU countries, as economic migrants, then risk their lives crossing the Channel, to get to yet another safe country, the UK. The draw is simply and easy living, at the expense of the honest UK taxpayer.
