i have been using a bowed roof lat to do some brick edging for my patio. it's ok, but i want something completley straight which is 2m long or bigger.

any ideas ?

How about the old favourite ..... a string line

Then it can be straight and level

My best solution is cheap white faced Contiboard, get a 150mm wide 2.4m length (assuming that's long enough). Stable and easy to man handle in most situations.... oh, and it's cheap :)

on site when cutting sheet material use the fence cut off the first 6" then use that for a strait edge making shure you mark the machine edge for running up against
6 " keeps it rigid [assuming 12mm] and allows the clamps to clear the motor

the conti board sound good. the line is obviously a good idea as well. but i like to use the board to tap down my line of bricks.

Don't forget the old site favorite for straightening up brickwork. A lump of 4x2 and a 14lb sledge hammer.
