No hot water!!

he he, well I've just been up into the loft(an amazing thing in itself lol)
and it looks like the zone valve pic, I also got dripped on by warm water coming from the tank just above it :!:

it's the hot water tank and from what I can see its about 4ft by 2ft I think, that's a guess coz I couldn't see it properly coz of all the insulation.

Kaz- not that I think this has much to do with the knocking sound, but a bit of help clarifying exactly what you've got in the loft would help.

The hot water tank that's dripping - is this a cylinder?
What other tanks have you got up there, and where are these in relation to each other?

Right then lets see if I can make any sense lol
as you poke your head into the loft there is the pump immediately infront of you but compared to the pic shown earlier rotate it 45degrees so that it is vertical, then set about acouple of foot behind it is the tank or cylinder. To the right of the tank and pump and set further up acouple of feet is the other tank, header one I think you said earlier lol, I think that is it

The heating header tank is the one that is dripping and could look like the one in the pic but is set horizontal, and it looks like it's wrapped in black bags which is why I couldn't get a proper look at it hope this helps, I know this must be like pulling teeth but if it's any consolation I am learning loads lol

So, op, you have just the one tank above the hot water one? Rough idea of size?

Primatic?
