I've just removed some damp laminate and underlay out of my bathroom and it looks like the old original door architrave is going to be about 5mm above the new floor - any ideas how to pad/extend it?

if its only 5 mm decorators caulk/filler and a damp finger if you painting
or cut out and introduce a wooden block 12mm wider and higher than the skirting and archatrave
