Show me where on the website or in the terms and conditions that 2 hours and above is extra only thing about cylinders it mentions is in regard to refitting immersions
Paul if its purely a switch off or stat not turned up do you cancel job or give a reduction NO because its swings and roundabouts.
BG make money out of this otherwise they would not offer it , it does not require people refusing customers what they are legally entitled to

for once I agree.

Ive not read the T+C's. Im just doing what ive been told which is,

No callout charge or to trace fault.(Fault not faults)

If job will take less than 30mins charge £99
If job takes 30 to 120 mins charge £168
If job takes over 120mins charge £265

A cylinder or a HEX would take me over 120mins therefore id charge £265/

Now what is your problem with that??

The problem is the job is advertised as FIXED price from £130 to £160 dependent on area of country not how expensive or how long it takes and not what some manager has told you to do

And regards the OP his is a heat exchanger on a performa half hour to an hour max

Ok Iwill conced that those prices are for the £3 a month contract fixed price in my area is £192 with absolutely no mention of of the price structure you have quoted.

And in the 130 /160 it says WHATEVER SIZE THE REPAIR

As a potential customer rather than an engineer I have to say if I'd called out a BG engineer who arrived and then wanted more than the 168 fixed fee quoted then he would be bounced out the house just like any other chancer. Which in effect will cost BG something.

Go on dangermouse ,your research skills are bloody amazing in regards to people trying to slag you off .Very impressed way you picked up on Paul, almost made him cry it seems without your usaul abuse well done :)

"The bloody swings and roundabouts saying made me sick hearing that years ago from BG,I felt like shoveing a swing down the neck of someone who worked there

It was always in their favour never yours, carry on boys and yes BG should carry out what they advertise not what some of their people "THINK" they advertise

Well i wont be using BG after reading this thread.

the plumber rang for the price in front of me and told me how much the part was - 132 plus vat and delivery. he said he would charge £40 to fit it, but it wasnt urgent. he is snowed under and i give him a lot of work so he's not bothered if i get it fixed for a lower price.

The woman on the phone at BG today said i would have to pay up front for the fixed price, but if you guys are just not going to do it then i am going to have a fight to get my money back.

no i will get the plumber to do it.

We've changed unvented cylinders, all day hx's, wau fans and all sorts of other rubbish for 168 or even 99 for energy custs. The whole point of it is that it's swings and roundabouts and that the company is getting a 'foot in the door'. Some customers take the p but that is where we need to fall back on t & c's.

WTF is this ****e about the fluctuating cost of an FPR?

Ive turned up stats and ive replaced £400 heat ex's on the FPRs. Making up the rules as you go along just makes you stand out as a shirker, liable to bounce a job if it looks remotely like you will have to put some effort in.

I dont bounce jobs, never take the easy option and take the rough with the smooth. Only sell upgrades when it will benefit customers and only put heating leads in when the custard asks for one. Yet i still manage to perform above target. The shirkers on my patch are the ones that cant hit targets.

Mars lets just say the part is cheaper than that if it needs it at all as already been suggested on your other thread

would you bounce me out the door if you had previously been warned that the price may change by the callcentre cdepending on the job time?

jesus, you are easily pleased.

.

but you would get it done for the price quoted to you.

if it cant be repaired the money is not taken from your card. they take your card details and its debited the minute the engineer closes the job, no money is taken "up front".

WTF is this s***te about the fluctuating cost of an FPR?

.

its probably not been rolled out to your area yet, unless you havent been briefed on it for some reason, wouldnt surprise me if you havent.
