'There' is no incorrect spelling of 'their' in that cartoon MM. The way in which Upper and Lower case has been used is, shall we say 'frowned upon' by certain people but there's nowt rong wiv tha spellin.
there are many exceptions to that rule..
in general any instance where the 2 letter combination is pronounced "ey" or "aye" it's "ei"..
their
neighbour
weight
eight
etc..
there are exceptions to the "after c" bit too but these tend to be when the i and e are parts of separate syllables
science
society
and of course for plurals of words ending in "cy" such as
policies
frequencies
vacancies
etc..

Thats what we are taught as youngsters but there are loads of cases where this is incorrect.

Their, is possessive.
