1.5 single core cables

Can single core cables be run in a roof without being encased or should it be twin and earth pvc coverd?
If single does meet the regs, any points to think about?

I take it you mean single insulated single cores?

If so they need to be totally enclosed in trunking or round conduit.

More practical to use twin and earth cable.

Have you acquired some singles then?

Yes we have some 1.5 single cable and need to have the roof in a new extension wired for 6 low energy down lights.
So it looks like we need to get some twin and earth then.
 
Red and blue are not the correct colours anyway.

Brown and blue for a single-phase a.c. circuit.
