well mr puller i like your new name,a kingsley tool was used along time ago on steam condense lines my own one is stepped 15/22/28.it is unsuitable for your idea of its application due to the profile of the nuts on modern compression fittings. :lol:
 
i've got one in the garage somewhere, if i get time/can be arsed i will see if i can find it and will post a pic

Sorry but I'm sure who mr puller is?? Is it an olive puller? Anyway, I hate to disagree with you, but I have used a Kingley drift as I stated with great succcess many times.

What is that Kevplum on, medication??

A drift is used to open the ends of tube to form a socket,a kingsley tool is a manipulative tool to form a ring in the tube to create a raised surface to form a seal against a fitting/valve.they were also used in high rise buildings on water services to prevent valves blowing off due to the pressure again i think the fittings were phased out in the early eighties :wink:

The chap i used to work with has recently had an operation on the tendons in his hand, he reckons it was years of kingley fittings.
