Im going to purchase a new boiler for my 5 bedroom house, My current boiler was installed in 1990 and is still working today when it wants to. I have decided to opt to get a new boiler as the harsh winters are approaching. All together i have 11 radiators in which 2 are towel radiators and 3 are double and the rest single. My friend recommended me to get a Vailant Eco Plus 837 as he can get it for cheap but i am not sure if it will warm up the house? as in all the radiators because my current boiler dosent warm up all the radiators especially the attic radiator it did buut not anymore. Do you think it will be ok?

One more question we are not sure weather to get the ecoplus 837 or 937 we have two bathrooms and a sink the water is used constantly around the house espically in the mornin and evening!

Thanks

Wouldn't go for either, heating not a problem but hot water would be,go for a vaillant ecotec plus with a unistor :)

Cannot recommend the 937 -hate them

637 with an unvented cylinder best option. :)

Worth a look is the Glowworm ultrapower 170 (has a vaillant heat engine - shhh) ;)

Rule of thumb 2 Kw per rad - 11 rads = 22 Kw + 21 Kw (peak) for the UV cylinder should surfice. 18Kw boiler - GOOD LUCK ;)

Hey mate thanks for ur reply, Reading ur comments i decided to look further in the Ecotec Plus 637 there are currently going for £1,086.88 where as if i put in a £100 extra i can opt or the EcoTec Plus 937 with the 937 i also have built in tanks to supply hot water twice at the same flow (correct me if im wrong :D) and sorry i didnt understand ur second comment lol!

937 will only give you 15 l/min same as the 837 but at a higher temp. another thing to consider is where your siting it. if its anywhere visible like a kitchen then the 937 is massive in depth. .its like having a washing machine hanging off your wall . you have said a priority for you is hot water performance so i would follow beerlovers advise about the unvented/ultrapower ( if your house is suitable. pressure/flow rates, etc)

thats a generous rule of thumb! I worked out on several different installs that the average rad size was 1.6kw. I guess it depends on the houses. This assuming all the rads are on and the outside temp is below 0. The system needs properly sizing of course, but im pretty sure 37 kw will still be massively oversized ;)
