I am buildind a stude wall partition in my garage to enclose an area for an ensuite bathroom. I need to lay a DPC/DPM so will do 3 or four courses of bricks and then put the sole plate of the stud wall on top. Couple of quick questions:

1) Any suggestions for fixing the sole plate to the top of the bricks
2) Am I ok to fit plaster board over the bricks on the garge side?

Appreciate any thoughts

I have used frame fixings in the past (hammer or screw) to fix a wall plate to bricks (usually at roof level though !) If need be (bricks not level enough), this can be bedded on mortar. Its also possible to use no-more-nails / gripfill type adhesive.

Plasterboard can go anywhere as long as it does not bridge the DPC and goes not touch the floor.
Then a skirting board would cover the gap between plasterboard and the floor.

Simon.
