Voting on either in that poll is pointless as the answer could be the same in either question.

consider what you are going to do with it if you draw it out. The risks are probably higher than if you leave it in.

For example:

Over the last 50 years, how many depositors have lost their savings when a major clearing bank went bust?

Over the last 50 years, how many householders have lost their cash savings in a fire or burglary?

If it's under £50k, it's backed by a government guarantee & nothing major is going to happen in just a few weeks.

Only to the extent that 'I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of...' means exchanging one bit of worthless paper for another...

A government that defaults on its loans guarantees nothing. If it defaults on its overseas loans why do you think it will look after you? Where will the money come from to 'guarantee' everyone's savings? Get real folks - this is the perfect financial storm - worse that then 1930s. The whole world economy will almost certainly crash in the next 5 years.

I hope you don't know what you're talking about. :)

I hope I don't too. I'm hoping someone can come along and show me I'm talking bolox. However, all the evidence points at me being right.

You may well be right Joe.....but I think that we really just don't want to believe for a moment that you could be .... something inside us always says 'that will never happen here'

I remember seeing this a few yrs ago if you can put up with its cheap cartoon like animation some may find it interesting, it's long though

And here is the sequel that I haven't even seen myself (longer still)

Matt

I watched the first one Matt and yes it is interesting, it is a bit long, but well explained, and there are some excellent quotes thrown in there, some of which are quite chilling.
