Queen were due to headline the knebworth festival.....but ticket sales were poor and securing a decent list of other bands have apparently been hard..............

not a Queen fan myself......but for real fans.....would seeing anyone other than Freddie not be quite right?

George Michael was brill when he stood in.

George Michael was the best replacement for Freddie although he would never be the same as him.
Paul Rogers is/was ok but there can never be anyone like Freddie.
Diane, you disappoint me. No one can touch Queen.
Would have loved to be at Wembley in '86! Have to content myself with the video.

i like a few tracks.....but thats about it....

fav tracks....seven seas of rye and killer queen..

Queen are **** but how anyone can say Giorgios Papadoulousoulosolossolous is better than Paul Rodgers is beyond me.

Went to see Queen in 1978 at Bingley Hall Stafford, when they did the "Bicycle Tour". Next time was at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert at Wembley.
I remember Live Aid in 85. Queen were undoubtedly the best band on the day. (had to watch on TV as I was working in the morning that day)
Always one of the best bands to see live, probably because of Freddie. The best frontman a band could ever have and simply irreplaceable.

haha thats better

Before they became famous they played the Liverpool Empire. My (To-be), brother in law was a junior reporter on a local newspaper and he shared a taxi from Wallasey to Liverpool with Freddie and Brian May to get an interview. Soft sod didn't get their autographs though!

Apparently Freddie's dad is buried in our local cemetery and Freddie used to visit in a chauffeur driven car from time to time.

It's the silly high voices that put me off queen and songs like Radio Gaga.
As is often the case, the first album was the best. Same with that other queen Elton John. Did you know he had a Scottish cousin named Elton Jock?
