Climbing up looks like the easy part - climbing down looks impossible. :eek:
 
I've seen that before as well, and IIRC from comments posted to the article, the guy was sacked for breaching safety rules. Neither his employer, nor the broadcaster they were working for, allowed free climbing at all.

And yes, it makes me feel dizzy watching it.
Upside of that job is ... on a good day you'll get some truly awesome views. Downside (as someone already hinted), I imagine it's a sh*t job when it's p***ing down with freezing rain and snow.

As an aside on that last bit, some of the planning involved in our digital switchover revolved around the time of years when some of the transmitters could be worked on. No good planning major works on Winter Hill (where I get a signal from, and the first main transmitter to switchover) in winter.
