I was all set to replace my bellbox with a pyronix delta until next door had one fitted and I noticed that the status led were hardly visable at night and invisible in the day. Let's face it, most homes are burgled during the daytime so I feel the comfort led as another important part of the deterrent of my bell box.

I have googled this and think I've gone round in a complete circle as I can find no highly recommend winner. So I appeal to you guys who fit and see lots of different boxes to give me some advise on a bell box with bright alternating comfort LEDs.

It doesn't have to be metal as the locationis high up on my gable end and well out of reach. Also been looking at the texecom odyssey but can't find if the LEDs would be visible in the day. I know that the colour of the lens can make a difference so let's compare all different manufactures with a blue lense fitted.

Hope you guys can help me here as im getting sick of reading bell box specs

So what is that 'comfort' led telling you then? The alarm is on/off?

By the way it is also telling everyone else as well.

So, most homes are burgled during the daytime, how does that happen then?
Walk up to the front door, knock, door answered, someone is in - give daft excuse for knocking.
Not answered, strongly suspect the house is empty, time to pop around the back.

The real world left you behind then?

You won't normally be able to see the comfort LEDs on a Texecom Odyssey during the day. Probably your best bet is to have a walk round in the daytime and see if you can find a sounder where the comfort LEDs are visible and then try to identify it.

I suspected that would be the case with the texecom. I'm lucky that in my work I get to look around a lot of properties and have come across some with very bright status LEDs but these have been very poorly made boxes with very thin lense covers and sometimes dummy boxes with dummy led status.

I think it going to be between the texecom odyssey and the inelisense AG8 would appreciate the views of anyone who has fitted either of these boxes on the visibility of LEDs in the daytime or an alternative if they have used one.

Cracking bright LED's, but sadly led's double up as the strobe meaning there's fk all different in led and strobe. On plus side, loving the chrome lids HKC do.

there is a difference, not much but a difference. Day lights go left right left right etc, when strobe output turned on middle light wakes up and all 3 flash at same time. not a proper strobe but bright enough and never had any complaints, customers seem to like them.
i like the chrome lids, but only ever managed to fit one. do you know who sells the chrome lids ?...

No comments then? You know I'm right.

You can buy flashing LEDs very cheaply. Why not fix one (or more) through a hole in the box, and wire it across the 12v supply?

We buy direct from HKC sorry.

Gardtec do a chrome lid for the EW012, I think it's a EW014CH. The Pyronix Deltabell has a chrome option too.

I am looking for a bell box with bright comfort LED'S too. I am not really a fan of green or red as they cannot be seen much during the day. Does anybody know whether i can get a bell box with White comfort LED'S? they would stand out

I have the Texecom Odyssey X fitted on my house, very bright white LED's and if you get the cover with the clear lens on the bottom it should be fairly visible during the day. I have one with the blue lens and I've not had an issue seeing them flash during the day except when its been really sunny which would be the same with any bell box i guess.
