Land of the free and...

I cannot get over what a complete **** the guy with the gun was.

If you get the attention of the cops in the states you do NOTHING to **** them off. They get shot at all the time, they all know somebody who has been shot, they literally go to work in the morning not knowing whether they will be shot during the day.

If you get stopped by a cop you show them your hands and don't give them any feeling that you are carrying a gun. If you are carrying a gun then the first thing you do is tell them where it is and wait for their instructions which you follow to the letter. Once they know you don't have a gun then they settle down and you can have a laff.

They like that. It makes them think you sympathise with their plight and shows them you are looking after their interests.

The guy should be sending the local cop shop a case of beer every christmas for not shooting him like the stupid **** deserved. If he was black he'd be dead.

The police officer obviously didn't think it was legal. Nor would anyone else in their right mind.

Stupid, yes.

But also legal.

what the police officer "thinks" or whether you have to be in your "right mind" doesn't matter, it was legal.

The Rsole in the video doesn't agree with you. He himself said that if the officer felt threatened he had the right to disarm him.
Wouldn't you feel threatened seeing Rambo walking down the street towards you?
So maybe their ridiculous laws mean it was legal for him to walk the streets like that, but they also mean it was legal for the officer to disarm him.
So you are making a non point.

Well the police officer stated quite clearly that he felt threatened and I'm guessing that he's got a lot more experience of guns and Texas than you have.

Maybe the guy was into a bit of reverse psychology in that he wanted to ridicule his own countrys' constitutional rights or laws and show just how bonkers they really are.

The right to bear arms has to be the most abused U.S. constitutional right there is. The problem is that everyone has to bear arms to make it fair.

And yet he couldn't explain at all why he felt threatened. When asked he simply refused to answer.

I'm not denying the guy was a confrontational dick about it, but the police officer was no better.

And yet he couldn't explain at all why he felt threatened. When asked he simply refused to answer.

Why would anyone need to explain why they felt threatened to see a man armed to the teeth walking towards them?
Anyone who doesn't feel threatened in that situation isn't all there.

I keep forgetting most people are still small children inside..

And that's not armed to the teeth. But in this country, a 1.5" locking knife is a deadly weapon which may not be carried in public!

You really aren't making any sense with that post I'm afraid.
perhaps you should try again, you could start by explaining why you wouldn't feel threatened to see a man you don't know walking towards you with that kind of weaponry.

Because I have no reason to believe he intends me any harm. Stop living in fear of everyone.
