I was looking at old music vids on youtube the other night and happened upon this lady.
Beautiful lady, beautiful voice, huge film star in the 30s and 40s, contemporary of Judy Garland. She retired at 28 got married and went to live in Paris.
Born in Canada from English parents.
I can't understand why I've never heard of her before. Is it just me, have others heard of her?

A lot of times the bad guys live the longest, they have better medical care and bodyguards, etc., paid for by all the money they took from the rest of us.

I'd never heard of her until I worked with WWII veteran tech at a NASA facility who used to sing her praises. Pardon the pun.
Almost certainly he is talking to her right now.

He also used to talk about "A wing and a prayer" which I only found out a few days ago is a movie from that period. I'm a mere babe.
