I've lead a boring, mundane life. ;)

In your opinion maybe, but its amazing the number of people out there who are fascinated by peoples experiences.
Why not start a manuscript writing down your earliest memories from childhood, the games you played, schools you attended, friends you had etc etc.

I'm sure it will make fascinating/tearful/laughter filled reading when your time has come and it will be a lasting memory to those you leave behind.

another though
my dad was organised to the eighth degree and told us everything about everything --------

----- except the bits he didnt think about
i had to write to every building society and bank mentioned in his paperwork about 12 in total because there was no note to say that xyz where the only banks with any money in

things like his house deeds we had no clue about
not saying any apply to you but something that you can find in seconds may take someone else weeks to sort out

The thing our family miss is the stories my Gran used to tell. She was born in 1903, so had a fair few to tell!

We wish we had got her to tell a few and recorded them for posterity.

Thanks, Mark, for your help with my 'toilet trouble'.

(That'll get them talking!)

Dear Charnwood
I hope you don't mind me contacting you. My name is Lynne and am Petes (peterperfection) partner. I am not a member on here but I posted a thread a few days ago to let people know of Petes dissapearance under his username (he had a coronary embolism and passed away suddenly whilst we were on holiday in Mexico)
My intention was just to post the one message but somehow I got drawn in. Anyway this is my last message on DIYnot and I could not leave without sending you my love and respect and to say what a brave outstanding guy you are.
My Dad had terminal cancer and passed away 5 years ago on the 28th of this month. BUT we had time together to talk and he had the chance to tell me how much he loved me and how proud of me he was. That is something that is in my heart forever.
Take Care
Lynne x

Many happy belated returns Charnwood.
Hope you had a good time with your loved ones.

And here's hoping you see a few more birthdays as well.

Erm... I've changed my cat's name to Charnwood. Hope that's okay...? ;)

Thinking of you, on and off this forum...

Not a problem Tone!

Just to explain; as I mainly frequent the Plumbing and Central Heating section it may be assumed - understandably - that my name comes from Charnwood multifuel heaters.

It is actually from the area I live, Charnwood Forest - a misnomer, because most of it is not forest.
