Light switch reversed after transformer blew in the ceiling

No wiring diagrams only these 2 pages and the invoice , its the same as the old Transformer that was in so I put the wires in the same contacts

Fair enough - I can't find any sensible instructions on-line, either. Are there any markings on the cover of the transformer? If so, could we see a piccie of it?

Kind Regards, John

Looking at a picture of the transformer....
Comparing this to what the OP has stated earlier - he has wired this end correctly.
Ah, yes - but on reflection, I don't suppose that any of us would have believed that the light would work with it wired back to front!

I think that I've got to the stage that it appears that everything is fine and that I simply cannot believe that the 'switch transformation' actually occurred, unless the switch was somehow 'touched' (switch inverted or L1/L2 swap) without the OP knowing. Nothing else would make any sense.

Kind Regards, John

I have attended a kitchen where the householder had wired the transformers up BTF..... apparently, there was, to quote him, "one f**k of a bang!"

Quite - that's the most likely outcome one might expect. The second most likely would, I suppose, be a much quieter 'plop' (or no sound at all), if it's protected in some way. ... but to put 230V into the output and get something out of the input that could satisfactorily operate a 12V lamp .... no way :-)

Kind Regards, John
