my company are offering voluntary severance, they say " in addition to statutory redundancy pay we are not obliged to by law but choose to, as a token of respect and thanks for the service that an employee has given to the organisation "
there is a pay scale and because of my age ( 63 and 25 years service ) I have been offered much less than an employee much younger

do I have a case against them for ageism ?
 
I think so, I thought you were entitled to x amount per year, that's what we got from Asda..

If I remember rightly but don't quote me on this but best to get expert advice, from what I understand the nearer you are to retirement age the less payments because you'll be collecting state pension to top up etc, every companies have a difference payments calculation, my company did the same for everyone so check they are not breaking any latest rules
