How come the bricks don't just fall off?

If it was fast setting then surely it would be unworkable very quickly?

I think its just a sticky consistency and very light bricks.

does the arc of it not hold it up?

I think he is referring to the fact that the bricks are not immediately slipping from their mortar bed.

Fascinating stuff.

Even lightweight material would slump. Got me baffled too.

no wonder its all curved, not a level or string line in site :D
Very impressive, I wonder if has anything to do with whatever is in the bucket he keeps dipping the bricks in ?

And to do it all in one day, you'd think the weight of it would just pull it down

does the arc of it not hold it up?

Yes, once each ring is complete, the arching action will make it self-supporting. But it's intruiging as to why the individual bricks don't drop off in the meantime.

No different to tiling a ceiling I guess?

High suction, light bricks, sticks well.

the other guy is doing some kind of rubbing up,clearing the snots.almost as soon as the brickie has installed them.
im thinking when in the spot bucket,it stays sloppy but as soon as its thrown on the brick it sets almost immediately.
very impressive.

They are built with gypsum mortar, which is fast setting on those bricks, which it has to be for it to work.
It does not go off so quick in the tub.

A lot different.

Tile = thin product with large surface area.

Brick = thick product modest surface area with tipping moment as well as slump thrown in.

The math's for the two would show the tile has a mahoosive advantage over the brick, i.e. a brick is 6 times thicker than a tile etc.
