I would ask the fault but the customer tells me the fault is the starter I had two car engineers look at it and they told me it was the starter 100% it will be the starter. Heating repair men ask three and get three different answers lack if training.

Sorry op but Dan is right, rule finding 101 how can you diagnose without the basic information? You haven't even told us what the symptoms are to the supposed solutions the 2 engineers gave you.
Put it this way saying "my car sounds as rough as a badger's arris" is at least a symptom as vague as maybe to give you some idea of what could be wrong and what the solution is. But if I was to bring my car to you and say "I need a new engine, I have had to other quotes to fx my problem, one says I need a new engine the other doesn't" would be no use to you as you will have no idea of what the problem is without looking at it and if even a new engine would solve the problem?
Dan isn't trying to make the job more than is, just tying to get some very basic information about what your symptoms are and make and model and type of system you have, not too much to ask for when you have actively come on here to seek professional advise and have been asked for this info before you have been given it.

But what if it was an Icos with a leak from the bottom right? .


If it was a sludge related failure then yes, the make and model is irrelevant.

Except it isn't.


If it was a combi boiler with a plate then the plate would need changing/cleaning as well.

It is was a heat only or system boiler the just the main HEX and a flush.


The OP is clearly a jumped up grease monkey with an over inflated sense of his own grandeur.

Come on Dan, when we are asked whether a system needs flushing or not, without knowing the system, the best course of action would be to drain said heating system and refill with battery acid.

Hope someone can help, had two quotes for a new heat exchanger one chap tells me I need to flush the system and fit the new heat exchanger and the other said just fit the heat exchanger no need to flush and will save you money. Who is right as I don't want the heating to breakdown in the winter.

My advice is not to flush it. Then your heating will most likely break down in the summer which apparently is no problem for you.

Once again i agree with everyone else More information required, but which one do you want to do the job? because if i told you it needed a new Hex and a flush and you asked for just a HEX i either would offer no warranty or not do the job.

To flush or not comes down to system water, experience etc if its a sealed system with low TTS and crystal clear what's the point but ultimately it comes down to the preference of the person doing it or what they deem as necessary

So easy decide who's doing the job and move on from there

My old car would frequently come up with a fuel pressure sensor error.

hhhmm... what could cause that?

Well...

It was either me having too much fun powering off corners and dips in the roads, or that daft mare I married let the the thing run too low on fuel.

Bet the OP can't work out what make and model (precise model please) I am talking about.

God I loved that car. Could reset the error code from my mobile in the office, or by telling the missus to fill the blugger up and drive round the block a couple of times.
