Scantronic Panel Reset - Shorting Pins

We've recently bought a house that has a Scantronic 9853 panel. I want to do a first stage reset so I can change access codes etc to something of my own choosing and reading through the programmers manual this seems to be a fairly straightforward process. However just to make sure I'm fully prepared when I short the NVM and kickstart pins can I use a standard PCB jumper or are the pin spacings / sizing different to this and I need to cobble together some sort of link/jumper myself (can't easily check for myself as currently working in Surrey and house is in Notts!)

Sorry should have also asked how I switch off the anti tamper temporarily so I can check the battery etc in future - can't seem to find any reference to it in the manual.

Pcb shorting link fine or small screwdriver across the pins, once you have defaulted the codes you can use the engineers code to gain access to the panel.

...and all tampers are ignored when you are in engineers/installers mode.

Personally, I never bother with the kickstart pins - I just short the NVM RST pins and put the mains (via the choc block fuse in the panel) and battery back on.

Things to note: When you open the panel, the internal speaker and the keypad sounder(s) will start making a racket - this will stop when you power down. When you power down, the outside bell/siren will start making a racket - this will stop when you power up. When you power up, the internal stuff will start making a racket again - type in the default user code to stop it. Then enter engineers/installers mode and go to 51 to set the date and time, close the panel, 99 tick tick - and you're done!
