Why is it people are so quick to spew hatred and bile about the Tories of today. I wouldn't mind had they a valid argument that criticized their policies, but no, it all seems rather impertinent and personal, (ad hominem attacks).

It seems people get off on insulting David Cameron by calling him a posh, slimy, toff who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Why does it matter that he had a privileged up-bringing, as long as he does job right, it doesn't matter, right? Or am I missing something....

Not Cameron's fault he was born posh. He's still allowed an opinion. If he was black/muslim/welsh and getting the same type of invective for being any of those things, there would be absolute uproar. Correctly.

If he was welsh you could call him Taffy, Sheep Shagger or Jones the " ".
The others, granted wouldn't be allowed.

I'm not big on politics but think the general reason why the tories are hated is because, historically, their policies have always tended to favour the people in this country who are already well off. The poorer citizens get the worst end of their policies, as happened with all the cutbacks when they regained power at the last election. Everyone suffered to some extent but, to force cutbacks on the very poorest of society doesn't exactly endear The Conservative Party to them. (Obviously there are people who receive benefits they shouldn't but there are also people who don't receive the benefits that they should.)

As for the name calling, it's just a petty way for those people to vent their anger.

David Cameron even admits that his party are not really the best in his latest video:

:!: CONTAINS BAD LANGUAGE :!:

Oh, BTW...leave us taffy, sheep sh*gging, Jones' out of it!! ;)

I don't hate the Tories. If UKIP did not exist, I'd probably vote Tory again. There is no way I would ever vote for Labour, the Limp Dems or the Greenies anyway.

The thing is that Cameron has said that he will promise a referendum on EU membership if he is re-elected. Why not now? Why not at some time during the four years he has been the PM?

That sounds like blackmail to me. And, going by politicians' proclivity to perform U-turns, I wouldn't believe him anyway.

one off the first things they said was we are all in this together??
we should all be part off the big society and volunteer to help
from what i have seen they have moved the burden to the poorest whilst giving tax reductions to the welthiest
whilst the chips are down the ones with the broadest shoulders shoud bear the greatest load

there are not enough natural tory voters in the uk for them to actually get into power so not surprizing they are hated
if you are left with say £30 a week to feed and cloth your self and a spare bedroom that is now costing you £12.50 reducing your food allowance to around £17.50 and there are no available one bedroom properties to move into you are punished where as if you are on 2 mill you now have a 100.000 reduction in your tax bill or more than a low paid person will earn in 10 years

The department for welfare and pensions is the biggest spending department in the UK.
Nearly 170 billion per year. A colossal sum of money.
That is 23% of all public spending.

So when a political power comes along and does the right thing reducing that spending then they are not going to be popular.
The tories are the only ones who can make any credible attempt at balancing the books.

The last labour government left everyone poorer and won't be reversed for a generation at least.

And as for the nhs, why is it a hospital administrator on £120k per year says she would not want her own mum receiving treatment from the hospital she presides over?

That's a nonsensical statement. They have held office for longer than labour since the year dot.

when you consider just over half the budget goes on pensions [around 52% ]then the next group are hard working people and sickness [around 43% ]
with only around 5% on the unemployed
now a lot off the cost to the hard working people is not paying a decent wage to maximise company profits so the public purse is subsidizing the profits of companies many companies are very wealthy and could pay more but choose not to further compounded by moving there profits abroad as a "tax dodge"

Politicians are all scum, the only exception I have seen in my 39 years is Screaming Lord Sutch....met him once in Aberdeen Uni Union.....was a genuinely nice guy. Perhaps a bit silly calling him a politician though.

Norcon makes a good point, only the Tories ever make an attempt at balancing the books no matter who it ****s over. Labour just want to appease. Sadly a two party system means it will forever be boom and bust. I'm quite happy with the latest Tory election lie....if it happens I will probably be better off as I am firmly in the higher end of the tax bracket.

Think yourselves lucky you are not saddled with a one party system like Scotland is likely to be soon. The Nazis are likely to have 100% control up here for a good long time.

Yes the politics of BBA.
Boom, Bust and Austerity.

The irish had it for nigh upon ten years with the celtic tiger in full swing.

Turn on any irish radio broadcasting station today and all you will hear is the term "austerity" being bandied about.

On the scum level indicator the media are complete equals to the politician.

Austerity is one of the medias favourite words to sell whatever tat they are peddling.

the point i am making is you have working class people that think the torries represent them or think by voting tory they are bettering them selves when in fact they are not

Seems small minded to be dependent on any political party to "better yourself".

Think off the bigger picture and what's best for the country.
We need to cut the welfare state, reform the nhs. (sack most of the adminstrators) keep unwanted foreigners out and keep jihadis in the firing line of gbu 12 paveways.
